On February 16, 2019, Zero Hour, a youth-led climate justice organization, launched a nationwide drive to support the lawsuit. Over the following 11 days more than 30,000 young people added their names to a Young People's Brief in Support of the Juliana Plaintiffs. This amicus, or “friend of the court,” brief was filed with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on March 1, 2019, calling upon the Court to allow the voices of the Juliana plaintiffs to be heard in open court at trial. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is still considering the government’s attempts to avoid a trial on the young people’s claims. A big hearing will take place on June 4, 2019, in Portland, Oregon, and it will be livestreamed. This case will likely end up before the Supreme Court of the United States and when it does, we want to submit a Young People’s Brief with over 100,000 names on it! Let’s show the government that you’re watching!
